If you have the pleasure to be around Amy Krebs, you might just hear her break out her faux English accent or bust out in song. This tall glass of water is the first Artist that Idle Tuesdays Recording Studio has launched in their effort to “elevate global culture, through music.” She joins the Idle Tuesdays team by way of Seattle, Washington, but not without stops in Munich, Germany, where she learned to speak German fluently, and New York City, where she studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (ADMA).
Her Mom says that Amy was humming long before she could even talk. Amy counts Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion as her greatest vocal influences, so it’s no surprise she loves Adele. Big voices and R&B aren’t the only things that inspire her. She also highlights her fondness for rock and alternative music.
Amy is a vocalist and singer/songwriter who is truly passionate about music: “I really love great musicianship and being able to hear not only great vocal melodies and lyrics, but incredible instrumentation as well. There are so many times that I’ll be listening to one of their songs for the 100 millionth time and I’ll hear something, musically, I’ve never heard before, and at that moment I just smile, break out into laughter or just start clapping at the amazingness I just heard for the first time.” She feels she’s better able to express herself through music than regular conversation. ”I connect with people best and am the most like myself when I’m singing something.”
In 2006, she made her way onto American Idol’s Season 6 and placed in the Top 24. Within the last twelve months, she’s released her second single on iTunes, “Story”, and continues to perform acoustic and full band sets throughout Los Angeles. You can catch her “Music Mondays” on her Youtube channel where she releases a video covering a popular or original song. She continues to write and loves to tell stories through her songs.
Amy Krebs wants people to know they aren’t alone and to never give up because you never know what is around the corner. She captures the essence of what is good and positive and brings every lesson, technique, talent and real life experience to not just Idle Tuesdays but to the world.
