Hey y’all! Matt the Intern here!
This past weekend, Idle Tuesdays’ Founder/Executive Director Emily Hibard was given the honor of presenting a workshop at the Urban Youth Worker Institute Conference. The UYWI Conference is a unique opportunity for the leaders of urban youth to come together and receive special training and get connected with other leaders to more effectively reach the youth of America.
Emily was invited to present the “ABCs of Starting a Non-Profit” workshops. These workshops were an hour-long intensive in which Emily provided the participants the tools needed to get their ideas, outreach opportunities, and ultimately their non-profits off the ground.
Starting a non-profit is a challenging task and, over the past year, Emily has been compiling everything she knows into her new book Starting Your Nonprofit: A Workbook to Guide You Through a Million Exciting Tasks.
These workshops were crash-courses taken directly from the pages of Starting Your Nonprofit. The participants were thrilled to get their questions answered and receive factual, practical tips. It was truly a fantastic weekend and Emily loved being able to connect with people who share a similar vision of changing the world for the better! Because at the end of the day, making this world a better place is Idle Tuesdays’ mission.
Make sure you’re checking back and checking in on Idle Tuesdays! We are getting ready to drop some amazing things and can’t wait for you guys to see, and hear, what has been happening behind our doors this year.
Until next time!
