MY LIVE STREAMING DAY VIEW!
Its official! I’ve finally had my first live streaming day view!
For the past couple of weeks the other interns and I have been working tirelessly behind the camera to film, direct, and live-stream our Facebook tutorial videos. It’s been a steep learning curve and has definitely challenged me to be creative while directing and producing content that is being streamed live!
After spending a few weeks behind the camera, I made my first appearance ON camera this past Wednesday.
Vocal Warm Up Tutorial
This past Wednesday, Julia (my fellow intern) and I got to learn some ways to warm up our vocals for singing. This tutorial was led by Natalie, another one of the Idle Tuesdays interns.
I’m not going to lie, at first I was a little nervous that I was going to be on camera, much less, singing on camera. I went into the studio thinking, what am I doing!? Being that I’m an inexperienced singer and have never had any vocal training previously, I was feeling a little inept to do the tutorial. After doing a run through of the tutorial and learning what I was going to be doing, I felt much better about the live-stream. The warm-ups weren’t only easy, but they helped me understand small ways that I could easily warm up my vocals for singing in the future.
It was nice to have the support of the other interns and Emily. Each one of them encouraged me to feel comfortable and kept the mood in the room light. It was cool to see how someone as inexperienced as me could watch one of our videos and be able to keep up with the tutorials our team is creating.
I encourage those of you who want to be in the music industry to continue to watch our Facebook live tutorials. I think they offer a detailed insight into different aspects of the music industry that could be key if you want to pursue the industry.
All in all, I had a great time being on camera for my first live-stream. The experience encouraged me to continue making relevant content for our viewers, and inspired me to think of more ways in which Idle Tuesdays can help those who are inexperienced get their feet wet in the music industry!
